The Jewish Cemetery

A tarnished ornament.
Hangs beside the ragged tin shack swordfish scrapyard.
Glistening in the last rays of this Indian Summer.
Concrete jungle memories
Adrift amongst the green moss headstones.
Awash with past lives in far away places
From Russia, Poland and Nazi occupied Europe
Carved in stone lost worlds
And forgotten dreams
While children climb fences
Looking for lost footballs
And chasing Joseph amazing dreamcoat butterflies.

Poem Extracts

"Steers my 10 speed drop handle bar racing bike
Through this urbane country terrain
Along narrow twisted railway bridge Kent lanes."
